Whether you're connecting with family, preparing for travel to Hong Kong, exploring your cultural heritage, or simply interested in learning a fascinating language, this 10-week online Cantonese: Beginners Level 1 course provides a practical and supportive introduction to spoken Cantonese.

Cantonese is widely spoken in Hong Kong and southern China and is known for its rich tonal system and expressive spoken style. From your very first class, you'll begin developing clear pronunciation, understanding how tones affect meaning, and building confidence using practical Cantonese in everyday situations.

Guided by an experienced tutor, you'll practise speaking and listening through interactive activities while gradually being introduced to commonly used written characters. Along the way, you'll also gain insight into Cantonese culture, customs, and communication styles, helping you use the language more naturally and confidently.

During the course, participants will be guided through key concepts, techniques and approaches that typically include:
